For the first time ever, Beatport is proud to offer producers the chance to remix two classic tracks from a true legend of electronic dance music, Yello.
The production stems of 'Bostich' the band's break through classic and a favorite of many Yello fans, and 'Oh Yeah',
the band's biggest commercial hit to date is now exclusively available on Beatport.com.

How to enter:

1. Nov 17 - Nov 23:

Download the remix parts of Yello - Bostich Remix Contest and/or Yello - Oh Yeah Remix Contest, bundled for $4.99 USD each.

2. Nov 24 - Dec 7:

Upload your remix to Beatportal.com/remix

3. Dec 8 - Dec 22:

Cast your vote by 'spinning' your favorite remix on Beatportal.com/remix.
After a period of deliberation, the winner will be announced on on or around January 5th, 2010.

Yello are one of the world's foremost electronic music bands and considered one of the godfathers of today's dance music scene. Boris Blank and Dieter Meier have produced music together under the name Yello since 1979 and have had a number of worldwide hits including 'Bostich', 'Lost Again', and 'The Race'. The duo's 'Oh Yeah' notably featured in Hollywood movies like 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off', 'Beverly Hills Cop', 'The Secret Of My Success', and several others.

yello zu remixen ist zwar durchaus verlockend,
aber dass man für die parts bezahlen soll,
finde ich dann doch etwas seltsam.

oder ist das üblich?

oder?

lässt halt den eigentlichen Beweggrund für diesen Contest durchblicken.

es käme wohl halb so schräg wenn se für den contest eine gebühr verlangen würden wie für die files einen preis erheben.

Yello hab ich früher viel gehört und finds echt schade das es so "verramscht" wird.
btw. in arte kam letzt ein sehr kuhl es interview wo der meier sein schweizer heimat zeigt und wie alles begonnen hat. seeeehr geil!

ja, hab ich auch teilweise gesehen.

siehs mal so: dafür, dass du für das ausgangsmaterial zahlst, ist es dein und du kannst es auch weiterverwerten für tracks abgesehen über den remix hinaus.

das is ja bei anderen remixpacks oft verboten..

verrammschen würd ich nicht sagen, das wäre es eher, wenns für umme wär.

wie weit die rechte durch den kauf aber tatsächlich gehen, wäre zu prüfen.
